Services

Includes the Following:

MEDICATION MANAGEMENT + BRIEF PSYCHOTHERAPY

Outpatient psychiatric care at Oasis Mental Wellness consists of psychiatric evaluations and treatment planning that incorporates recommendations and management of psychiatric medications along with what is called brief supportive psychotherapy. Psychotherapy services offered by psychiatric providers are not the same as the extended 50-60 minute or longer sessions with psychotherapists but are part of the therapeutic framework. This practice also incorporates holistic care into treatment planning.

TELEPSYCHIATRY

Oasis Mental Wellness believes in making care as accessible as possible and utilizes telepsychiatry for many patient appointments. The law sometimes requires patients to be seen in person depending on if they are on controlled substances and your provider may prefer in some instances for your appointments to be in person, but telepsychiatry is a technology that is embraced by this practice to optimize patient care.

AUTISM EVALUATIONS AND TREATMENT

If you suspect you are on the Autism spectrum, Oasis Mental Wellness is equipped to evaluate you given all the years of expertise in this area. An evaluation consists of a full psychiatric evaluation, usually involves gathering collateral information from close loved ones who know the patient well, and occasionally may be accompanied by a recommendation for further testing. Treatment often consists of helping with comorbid conditions, which can often accompany Autism.

ADHD EVALUATIONS AND TREATMENT

With many years of experience with ADHD, Oasis Mental Wellness enjoys providing high-quality evaluations and treatment to those with ADD/ADHD. Let us partner with you on this journey to achieve the best cognitive functioning and quality of life possible for your condition.

WOMEN’S MENTAL HEALTH

Passionate about treating women across the lifespan, this practice can help with pre-menstrual symptoms/pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder, perinatal/postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, psychosis, grief from loss due to miscarriage or stillborn babies, infertility, medically ill children, body image, sexual health, parenting concerns, perimenopause and more.

GENETIC TESTING

Pharmacogenomic testing can sometimes help narrow down optimal treatment recommendations for patients, and Oasis Mental Wellness partners with you in these discussions to determine if this is a suitable option for you.

REFERRALS

In treating the whole person, it is often recommended to consider therapy services, other medical workups, other services, etc., depending on your presentation and preferences. This practice partners with many people in the community to stay up to date on who is providing what services and who will be the best fit for you. Oasis Mental Wellness believes in being a part of the community which includes ongoing engagement with therapists and other professionals in the community to make sure we can provide the best care to our patients from a holistic perspective.

Conditions Treated

  • DEPRESSION

Depression is a common condition, with a lifetime prevalence in the U.S. of around 20%, and can be difficult to overcome without effective treatment intervention. Although not everyone with depression experiences it in the same way, depression often decreases motivation and one’s ability to enjoy things which can contribute further to the difficulty of overcoming depression. At Oasis Mental Wellness we partner with you in whole-person centered ways to target your depressive symptoms.
  • ANXIETY

Anxiety disorders impact approximately 40 million adults in the U.S. and are also common in children. These disorders include different kinds of anxiety – generalized, social, specific phobias, etc., and there are specific treatment recommendations for anxiety that can be tailored towards you, including but not limited to medication management, psychotherapy, mindfulness/relaxation training, and biofeedback. We look forward to helping you on your journey to a better quality of life.
  • ADHD

ADD/ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder impacting executive dysfunction that starts in childhood and for many persists into adulthood. It is marked by persistent inattention and sometimes accompanied by hyperactivity and/or impulsivity. At Oasis Mental Wellness we treat adolescents through adults for ADD/ADHD, partnering with patients depending on their history of treatment and preferences, to find the best treatment approach to care which in addition to medication management may include behavioral approaches such as referrals for ADHD coaching.
  • BIPOLAR DISORDER

Bipolar Disorder is a treatable mental illness marked by extreme changes in mood, energy, thought, and behavior. It is called bipolar disorder because a person’s mood can alternate between the “poles” of mania (high, elevated mood) and depression (low, depressed mood). These mood changes can last for hours, days, weeks, or months. At Oasis Mental Wellness we have years of experience treating patients with Bipolar spectrum illness and would love to have the opportunity to help you find the best treatment plan for you.
  • OCD

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health disorder that affects people of all ages and walks of life and occurs when a person gets caught in a cycle of obsessions and compulsions. Obsessions are unwanted, intrusive thoughts, images, or urges that trigger intensely distressing feelings. Compulsions are behaviors an individual engages in to get rid of the obsessions and/or decrease distress. We are committed at Oasis Mental Wellness to helping those with OCD attain the highest relief of symptoms and the best quality of life under our care.
  • TRAUMA-RELATED DISORDERS

It can take months or years to regain a sense of trust or control after experiencing trauma. At Oasis Mental Wellness we are dedicated to helping people from all walks of life and different kinds of traumatic experiences to process their trauma in a healthy way on their path to wellness.
  • SLEEP DISORDERS

Sleep is one of the foundational pillars of our health and is a fundamental part of our overall health and well-being. We spend one-third of our lives sleeping and yet we often do not notice our sleep unless it is disturbed. As the mind and body are connected, one’s mental state can be impacted by sleep and disturbed sleep can negatively impact mental health. At Oasis Mental Wellness we take treating sleep seriously as a critical component of your health and will engage with you to get you the best treatment solutions.
  • PSYCHOSIS

Though most patients who have ongoing psychotic symptoms will likely need a higher level of care than this writer provides, not all forms of psychosis are due to conditions like Schizophrenia. At Oasis Mental Wellness we have years of experience in diagnosing and treating individuals with psychosis and can help you determine what is the most appropriate diagnosis, treatment plan, and level of care.
  • EATING DISORDERS

This clinic is not a specialty clinic providing more intensive services for eating disorders of moderate to severe severity, but at Oasis Mental Wellness we are equipped to perform diagnostic evaluations, refer for a higher level of care when needed, and are happy to treat patients with milder forms of eating disorders like Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder, as an example, when appropriate for the outpatient setting.
  • ADDICTION

At Oasis Mental Wellness we understand the toll addiction can take on an individual’s life and we are happy to treat those appropriate for the outpatient setting. Since Oasis Mental Wellness is not a clinic that offers specialized services in addiction, many patients with a history of addiction that is early in recovery may need to continue their treatment with their specialty provider. We are also happy to help you find more specialized services if that is needed for your care.
