The name for Oasis Mental Wellness was inspired by the imagery and meaning associated with the term “Oasis.” An oasis is where there is unexpected flourishing of life in a barren place where one can find rest and refreshment.

This practice wants to help you on your journey to become empowered, tap into your inner strength, and find resilience amidst the difficulties and challenges you face in life.

The goal is a positive one – to achieve wellness – a much more positive goal than the goal that merely seeks to eliminate negative symptoms.

Let Oasis Mental Wellness help you along your path to wellness.

Our Approach to Care

We partner with you on your journey where you are, whether you are seeking psychiatric treatment for the first time as a parent for your child or an adult, or if you are looking to transfer care or resume treatment. It is of the utmost care to us that patients receive high-quality psychiatric care, which includes the following:
  • COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATIONS

We spend the time it takes to listen to each person’s story and get a sense of each individual as a whole, unique person. The emphasis at this practice is of high quality and this means more time and attention than a typical high-volume clinic. The goal is to be thorough and engaged with patients continuously.
  • CONVENIENCE

We offer telehealth and in-person appointments with self-scheduling capabilities making it easier for you as the patient to access care.
  • INDIVIDUALIZED TREATMENT PLANS

Though you may be coming to us for our psychiatric expertise, you are the expert of you! Because each patient is different and has different backgrounds, medical histories, preferences, questions, etc., we consider this as we partner with you to develop a personalized treatment plan. We also take the time to answer any questions you may have as we want every patient to be fully informed and to feel empowered about their treatment decisions. As a psychiatric provider, I am experienced and licensed to diagnose psychiatric conditions, prescribe medications, offer brief supportive psychotherapy, refer for different kinds of testing and other services, etc.
  • EVIDENCE-BASED

Treatment plans are evidence-based which means that providers stay up-to-date with knowledge about what treatments pass the rigor of scientific studies and prioritize recommendations based on the evidence.
  • HOLISTIC APPROACH

Although biological treatments like prescription medications can be helpful for many psychiatric conditions, there are other aspects to care that are also important such as the psychological processes of the mind which is the target of therapy as well as other things like nutrition, exercise, physical health, quality social community, etc. We incorporate this holistic aspect of care into conversations with patients.
  • INNOVATIVE AND PATIENT-CENTRIC

Oasis Mental Wellness incorporates all evidence-based data including the latest and emerging technologies into treatment discussions – for example, there is an emerging role Digital Therapeutics can play in psychiatric treatment to help patients achieve wellness.
  • CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY

I partner with Dr. Sandy Lare, a psychiatrist with 23+ years of experience treating children and adults, to provide a critical service for the younger ages amidst a nationwide shortage of pediatric psychiatry providers.
  • WOMEN’S MENTAL HEALTH

There is a special passion at Oasis Mental Wellness for treating women of all ages across the reproductive life cycle, with a commitment to attain Postpartum Support International (PSI) certification to apply the best treatments for women dealing with all kinds of conditions - PMS, PMDD, perinatal mental health issues including postpartum, grief from miscarriage, stillborn, or traumatic pregnancy, life transitions, and menopause. Lydia Ramos has earned the PMH-C (national certification in Perinatal Mental Health)
  • A young adult receives an ADHD evaluation from a trained professional.

    ADHD Evaluations

From start to finish, Oasis Mental Wellness offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluations that can include an evaluation of ADHD as well as treatment of ADHD. ADHD is an umbrella term that refers to all the subtypes of ADHD, including the inattentive presentation. Evaluation includes a comprehensive clinical history with questionnaires, a gathering of collateral information and can also include computerized testing such as CNS Vital Signs.
  • A young adult receives an autism evaluation from a trained professional.

    Autism Evaluations

PA Lydia Ramos is an Autism expert who for teens and adults conducts thorough evaluations for Autism and can help detect more subtle cases of milder severity, such as Autism Level 1. For kids younger than teenage years psychological testing in addition to a psychiatric assessment is often recommended as children of younger ages may have other conditions that cannot be determined based off of clinical interview (e.g. Learning disabilities, Intellectual impairment, etc...) but for most teens and adults, psychological testing is not necessary. If you have specific questions about these assessments, please reach out to Oasis Mental Wellness to inquire.
